General Information

In year 6 your child will become a prefect. We believe this helps the children to become responsible citizens as they learn about daily responsibilities and becoming independant.
As acknowledgement of this responsibility we provide the year 6 children with a different tie to wear so they can feel a sense of pride within the school.
Maths  - Comes home on Wednesday and is due back the following Monday.
** Please note that by Year 4 children are expected to be developing fluent recall of multiplication facts up to 12 x 12 and the associated division facts **
Reading - approximately 20 minutes per night. Spending time discussing what your child has read is also very important and will help with their comprehension skills.
Your child has been given a reading record which they are responsible for looking after. These are the children's own personal record of their reading with you and we would appreciate you signing them when you have heard your child read. These are checked periodically but not daily.
To encourage children to read at home regularly we are continuing with our 'Reading Miles'.
PE Monday
Swimming Friday Morning
Cross Country Monday and Wednesday
Please ensure children have the correct kit for these sessions.

On Thursday afternoons the year 6 teachers have their PPA Time. The children in year 6 are then led by our experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants. In these afternoon sessions topic work, art and SEAL may be covered.
