PE Premium 2016-17

PE & Sport Premium 2016-17
For information about previous years spending and impact, please follow the links on the left.
Each year every primary school across the country receives a P.E. and Sport Premium.  This money is 'ring-fenced' to be spent on P.E. and Sport in school to ensure the quality of provision is able to be developed and sustained each year.
Each school receives £8,000 plus £5 per pupil each school year.  For Biscovey, this means we receive in the region of £9,500 per year.
The funding is currently guaranteed until 2020.
Full details can be found on the DfE website:
The following table shows how we plan on spending the funding in the current academic year.
Spending Total Impact Sustainability
Mid Cornwall Sports Network Membership
Membership of a network of schools who work together to create many opportunities within sport, for example:  Competition (Par Cross Country League, Badminton, Tennis, Tri-Golf, etc.), Staff Training, etc.
In the past twelve months, we have entered many events organised by Mid Cornwall Sports Network, including cross country, tag rugby, swimming, badminton, tennis, netball, tri-golf, athletics, quadkids, gymnastics and others.
We have also used their training opportunities for staff CPD, including netball and tag rugby.
Trained staff are now more confident and competent in delivering netball and tag rugby.
Aspire Academy Trust Collaborative Work
Working together with our Aspire Academy Trust partners to provide opportunities that are not offered elsewhere, for example the annual Aspire Games.
This year as a trust, and as part of our hub, we have put on events including:
Aspire Games (whole Year 5 included), tri-golf, dodgeball, cricket and gymnastics events.
The Aspire Games is now a part of the trust's annual event list.
As a hub, we are becoming more active in organising events, with several strong links made.
Employment of Sports Teaching Assistant
To provide additional opportunities to the children, as well as providing support during P.E. lessons and through the organisation of children for fixtures.
Support provided to all classes during P.E. lessons throughout the year.
By having a dedicated person to organise the clubs and events, we have been able to provide a greater range of opportunity for the children.

This has sllowed us to attend a large range of events, with 127 children having represented the school so far this year, 40% of our total role.
55% percent of children in year 6 have represented the school.
Subsidising Extra-Curriculuar Clubs
to keep costs of 'paid clubs' to a minimum

Autumn  - 12 sport clubs
Spring - 11 sport clubs
Summer -11 sports clubs.
52% of children have accessed at least one sports club so far this school year.

This has allowed staff to attend training, therefore ensuring high quality delivery of P.E. and Clubs.  Also, ideas gained from courses and collaboration have allowed new provision in school.
More events have been able to be attended due to cover provided to staff.
Purchasing New Equipment
for use in P.E. lessons and after school clubs.
This year's purchases have included:
