Summer Term 2018

Summer Term 2018

During the summer term year three use the topic of The Tudors throughout the curriculum.

Through our English topic we use the story of Pocahontas to inspire the children, who go on to write sections of the story from the point of view of one of the characters. The topic also covers much of the history of the Tudor family, as well as art work based upon the Tudor Rose and the geography of how the explorers discovered other countries around the world. We also link the topic into our music and computing.

Our science work this term covers Plants as well as Forces and Magnets, which in turn links with our D.T. project on magnetic mazes.  In P.E. we move onto outdoor activities, focusing on Athletics, Tennis and Cricket/Rounders, whilst we also spend a lot of time preparing a country dance ready to perform at the May Fayre.
For the first half term the topic of 'The Tudors' will encompass many different areas of the curriculum.

The jigsaw below shows what we will be covering in each subject.
