Tuesday 8th February
Football & Netball v Carclaze
This week, we travelled to our first away fixture, with matches taking palce at Carclaze.
On the football pitches, our Year 3/4 team shone, with some fantastic performances in a 1-1 draw. With a couple of players making their debut appearances for the school, it was wonderful to watch them working well as a team and supporting each other throughout.
The B team enjoyed a close encounter, losing out by a score of 2-0, but looking solid and playing some good football throughout.
Our football A Team enjoyed a game that was closer than the score suggests. At half time, the score stood at 0-0, so the first goal would be key. Unfortunately it was Carclaze who scored first, before going on to get a second. Two late goals meant the final score was 4-0, yet our team put in a good performance against a strong team.
On the netball court, our A Team earned another win, with great netball played by the whole team. The B Teams match was very close, with both Carclaze and Biscovey passing the ball with confidence and creating chances. Despite great play, the ball only passed through the net once. Fortunately for us, it was Biscovey who scored the only point, winning 1-0.

Tuesday 25th January
Football & Netball v Sandy Hill
A great afternoon of sport was enjoyed by our teams as we welcomed Sandy Hill for our league fixtures.
In netball, two enjoyable games were played, with some strong netball shown by both our A and B teams. With some clinical finishing, both teams secured a victory.
Meanwhile, on the football pitches we saw some great play from the A Team who just missed out in an end-to-end encounter that finished 4-3 to Sandy Hill. There was some superb football seen from both teams and wonderful sportsmanship shown throughout. The B team played out a 0-0 draw, which could easily have finished with both teams scoring, but a mixture of close misses and good goalkeeping preventing both teams. Finally, our year 3/4 team came up against a much more experienced Sandy Hill team who deservedly won, but we were impressed by the efforts of our team throughout.
Well done to all involved!!

Friday 21st January
Year 5 & 6 Indoor Athletics
This morning 36 children enjoyed a wonderful morning of running, throwing and jumping at Fowey River Academy. It was fantastic to see such effort being made by our pupils who tried their best throughout, representing the school superbly and supporting pupils from both Biscovey and other schools. It was also great to see so many ex-pupils involved in running the event. Well done to all of those involved!

Indoor Athletics - Years 3 & 4
36 children from years 3 and 4 travelled to Fowey to take part in the area Indoor Athletics event along with pupils from Fowey Primary and Polruan. It was the first time representing the school for the majority of children, all of whom had the chance to run, throw or jump in a variety of team and individual events.
The children represented the school superbly, winning races in style, but showing great sportsmanship when other schools won events.

Friday 19th Nov
Girls' County Football Finals
Our girls football team played in the county finals, having qualified by finishing 2nd in the previous tournament. The team were superb throughout the day, with most games being only separated by one goal. Whilst the results didn't always go in our favour, it was a great experience and the girls represented the school superbly throughout, finishing in 7th place overall.
Well done to all of the girls involved: Emelia, Sophie, Erin, Willow, Lilly, Ruby, Jess, Amber, Summer.
