Biscovey Juniors

Art

At Biscovey Primary Academy , we believe that every child is an artist. Our Art curriculum is designed to inspire creativity, encourage self-expression and develop the knowledge and skills needed to create high-quality artwork.

Through a broad and engaging curriculum, pupils explore a range of artistic techniques, materials and processes. They study the work of a diverse range of artists, craftspeople and designers, using these experiences to inspire and influence their own creative outcomes. Wherever possible, meaningful links are made across the curriculum to provide context, deepen learning and help children create with purpose.

As pupils progress through the school, they develop their drawing, painting, printing, sculpture and mixed-media skills, while learning to evaluate and refine their work. They are encouraged to experiment, take creative risks and reflect on their artistic choices, building confidence and resilience as young artists.

We celebrate creativity throughout our school, proudly displaying and sharing pupils' artwork with our school community. Our aim is for every child to leave Biscovey with a love of art, an appreciation of creativity and culture, and the confidence to express themselves through a range of artistic media.
