This half term, we are excited to be learning about the Africa through our topic of ‘From Cape Town to Casablanca.’ This will be learning about the changing climate in Africa.
Our reading will explore a range of non-fiction texts around Africa in addition to sharing the novel The One and Only Ruby by Katherine Applegate. We encourage children to share a love of reading through discussion, comprehension and through delving into the wonderful story. In writing, we are exploring poetry and biography writing about a witch.
We will be having a wow start to our new topics through an Africa themed day of art, animal exploring and taste testing.
In maths we will be exploring fractions, mass and capacity and time. We will continue to build our confidence with our times tables and increase our fluency.Â
Our new topic for science is living things and their habitats to gain a deeper understanding of the lives of the earth’s creatures.
In RE, we are learning about Christianity and the creation story. In our wider curriculum, we are creating watercolours and sketching silhouettes in our Art lessons and focusing on cricket within our PE lessons.Â
