At Biscovey Academy, we aim to develop the historical knowledge, skills and understanding that enable pupils to make sense of the past and understand how it has shaped the present. Through high-quality teaching and engaging historical enquiries, children build a secure understanding of chronology, developing a coherent narrative of Britain's past and that of the wider world from the earliest times to the present day. Lessons encourage curiosity, critical thinking and the careful evaluation of evidence as pupils explore significant events, people and civilizations. From Years 3 to 6, children progressively strengthen their chronological understanding whilst developing the skills of historical enquiry, interpretation and comparison.
