Our topic for the Autumn Term is 'Benin'
We are celebrating learning about different cultures and their history this half term with a focus on Benin. We will be exploring the Benin civilisation and how this has had an impact on history through trading, developments and incredible Bronze artwork and relics.
Our class story is 'Children of the Benin Kingdom' by Dinah Orji, which follows the story of Ada and her discovey of hidden secrets in the Benin Kingdom and her ancestors.
P.E Kit requirements:
-Sky Blue Biscovey Academy t-shirt
-Navy Blue Biscovey Academy hoody
-Black shorts (black tracksuit bottoms can be worn for outside P.E. when the weather is cold)
-Trainers.
Homework:
Weekly:
All children are expected to read daily, with this being recorded in their personal reading logs. We expect them to learn their weekly spellings to prepare for a test in school on a Friday. Each week, children will have an arithmetic activity to support their learning in maths and a reading comprehension to complete.
Half-termly:
There are a selection of activities to support the foundation subjects for children to complete at home.
Homework will be handed out on a Friday and will be expected to be returned to school by the following Wednesday.
